ANNOUNCEMENT: Transition to PFAS-Free Fire Extinguishers

In response to the recent announcement made by our fire extinguisher manufacturer and supplier last week, Red Box Fire Control is also committed to providing environmentally friendly and compliant products wherever possible

As a global provider of fire safety solutions, our supplier are soon to be launching their new Green Crosshair PFAS-free fire extinguisher range and which shows their commitment to going completely fluorine free in all of their products from January 2025.

This innovative product line is fully compliant with the European Chemicals Agency's proposed EU-wide restriction on per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in firefighting foams, including the recently added PFHxA.

Often called 'forever chemicals', PFAS are highly persistent in the environment, posing long-term risks to ecosystems and also human health. The anticipated regulation (although not passed as law at this point in time) is rumored likely to be in force by December 2030.  Either way, it represents a crucial move toward safeguarding the planet.

Therefore, as of January 2025, we will begin to supply this new PFAS-free fire extinguisher range to our clients. This transition aligns with our dedication to sustainability and innovation, ensuring that we continue to offer the highest quality products while also protecting the environment. The new ‘Green Range’ will be a permanent feature across all our fire extinguishers, representing our commitment to also being PFAS-free. Look out for the Green Crosshair on the extinguishers we will supply to you.
